    Home page of the national association dedicated to entomological sciences.  Links to other entomological associations and departments. 

Butterflies and Moths of North America

    Formerly run by the USGS, the butterflies and the moth sites have been relocated to Montana.  These are still outstanding sites that serve as a clearing house for information on moths and on butterflies, with numerous images.  A bit hard to use, unless you have an idea what your insect might be.  Links to many additional sources of information on moths/butterflies. 

Grasshoppers of Wyoming and the West

    More than one would ever need to know about most grasshopper species found in the west.  This site includes excellent images of all stages of common grasshoppers. 

BugWood/IPM Images

    A repository of insect images (including a great many by CSU personnel), particularly emphasizing those of economic importance.  The use of these slides is allowed for all educational purposes; commercial uses do require permission, which is almost always freely given. 

Denver Museum of Nature and Science Spider Survey

    This is the home page for the Colorado Survey, coordinated by Dr. Paula Cushing.  There are sections on identification and excellent links to spider material. 

The University of Florida Book of Insect Records

    Provides summaries of information on the largest, fastest, most dangerous... insects in the world.  An ongoing project produced by the graduate student program.  

Snopes.com Urban Legends Reference Pages

    A site that catalogs all manner of urban legends and rumors.  For those with an insect angle click on "Horror" then click on "Insect Infestations".
